The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ficagna drives through and clinches with Banero against the cage.
Ficagna lands a left hand that snaps the head of Banero backwards.
Banero's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Banero gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A jab from Ficagna finds it's way through Banero's defenses.
Banero is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ficagna sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ficagna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Banero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Banero shoots in but Ficagna avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ficagna throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Banero stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ficagna comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Banero is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Ficagna can't fight it off and eventually Banero manages to take the fight to the floor. Ficagna looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Banero not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ficagna is pressed up against the cage. Banero has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ficagna down to the mat. Ficagna avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Banero closes the distance and clinches up with Ficagna, looking for a takedown. Banero pushes Ficagna against the cage but Ficagna circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
