The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hassel misses the shot to the body.
Hassel avoids the head kick by Spar.
Hassel throws a good cross that connects.


It looks like Muay Thai Spar has been cut.
Spar throws a low kick but Hassel avoids it.

and Spar counters with a nice leg kick.

Spar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hassel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Spar throws a head kick but Hassel moves out of range.
Hassel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Spar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hassel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Spar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Spar lands with an overhand left.

Spar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Spar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Spar connects with a leg kick. Hassel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hassel lands the left hand.
Spar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hassel defends it nicely.
Spar lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Chris Hassel has been cut.
Hassel is looking to clinch but Spar is avoiding it.
Crunch! Spar slams his shin into Hassel's torso.
Spar feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hassel's calf.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Hassel counters with a series of strikes. Spar will be more careful next time no doubt.

Spar lands with a hook. Hassel tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hassel loads up on a big right hand but Spar slips the punch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Spar.

Spar feints and then cracks Hassel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hassel down.

Hassel on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Spar throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hassel's head.
Spar tries to land a leg kick but Hassel saw it coming and moves away.
Hassel missing with a left hand there. Spar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Chris Hassel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hassel pinned against the cage. Hassel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight stays on the outside here - Hassel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hassel looks to land a right hand but Spar moved out of range.
Spar waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hassel.
Spar drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hassel misses with an uppercut. Spar saw that one coming.
Spar scoring well with a low kick there.
Spar fakes the leg kick and cracks Hassel in the body.

Spar throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hassel counters with a left to the body.

Hassel tries to close the distance and clinch but Spar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Spar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Good leg kick by Spar there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Hassel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spar.
The crowd cheers as Spar lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hassel doesn't seem phased though.

A left lands for Spar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Spar connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Spar bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Spar lands with a kick to the ribs.
A low kick from Spar is predictable there
and Hassel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hassel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Spar.
Spar will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Spar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That kick from Spar tenderised Hassel's leg. Hassel is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Hassel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hassel has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Spar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hassel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Spar tries to pull guard but Hassel holds him up against the cage and eventually Spar drops back down to his feet.
Hassel tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Spar's elbow.
Hassel swings wildly with an uppercut but Spar uses good head movement to avoid it.

A short body shot lands from Spar as the two fighters clinch.
Chris Hassel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hassel swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Spar tries to land knees in the clinch but Hassel avoids the damage to the body.
Spar is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hassel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Spar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hassel's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Spar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Muay Thai Spar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab lands there for Spar.
Hassel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Muay Thai Spar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The fighters circling - Hassel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hassel as he jumps to the side.
Hassel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Spar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Spar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hassel throws out the jab.
Spar walks into a stiff left hand from Hassel.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hassel thuds his right hand into Spar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Good leg kick by Spar there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hassel looks to land a left hand but Spar moved out of range nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Hassel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Spar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
