Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Unigu Rege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Bodi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Unigu Rege has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Unigu Rege!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergio Bodi!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rege gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bodi counters with a three punch combo that has Rege backing up. Rege nods at Bodi to acknowledge the strikes.

Bodi cracks Rege with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Bodi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rege manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bodi slips a jab and a cross from Rege.
Rege blocks a low kick nicely.
Rege has his takedown stuffed
and Bodi counters with a nice leg kick.

Rege tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bodi swivels and escapes.

Rege drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rege is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bodi wants to get back to his feet but Rege is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rege is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rege moves into range and clinches up with Bodi.

Bodi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rege moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bodi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bodi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rege but Rege pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rege is looking to break free of the clinch but Bodi has double underhooks.

Rege has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bodi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Rege - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

That was a close round but I would say that Unigu Rege will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bodi has closed the distance and engaged Rege in a clinch.
Bodi jumps guard but Rege turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Rege looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bodi is one step ahead there.
Bodi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bodi wants to control from the top but Rege keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rege is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bodi defends well.

Sergio Bodi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Bodi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rege doesn't manage to clinch there - Bodi circles away.

Rege changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bodi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bodi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
It looks like Rege is going to stand back up.
Rege seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bodi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rege is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rege has his foot on Bodi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bodi works his way back into a safe position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sergio Bodi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
