The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rezende with a lazy takedown attempt
and Laak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Laak throws a head kick that misses.
Rezende tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Laak swivels and escapes.
Laak connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rezende. Rezende circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rezende's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Laak connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rezende scrambles back to his feet.
Good exchange - Laak coming out on top.
Donk. Laak catches Rezende right on the button with a cross.
Rezende is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rezende gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Laak counters with an outside leg kick.
Rezende is still on wobbly legs! Can Laak finish him?
Eric Laak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Rezende.
Rezende moves to clinch but Laak breaks away
and Laak counters with a big right hand! Oh Rezende is in trouble here! Laak follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
