PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Two (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munoz comes to the ring accompanied by Mga kababayan ko. The crowd seem to be enjoying Two's choice of entrance music: Don't Bite the Dick. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Munoz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Two!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Two clinches up with Munoz and pushes him back against the ropes.
Two scores with a shot to the side of Munoz's head.
Two throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Munozs head.
Munoz changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Two fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Two jabs Munoz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
That kick from Two tenderised Munoz's leg. Munoz is trying to keep his angry face on.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Munoz is defended easily by Two.
Munoz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Two misses with a takedown attempt
and Munoz counters with a three punch combo that has Two backing up. Two nods at Munoz to acknowledge the strikes.
Two scores with a one two! Munoz had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Two shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Munoz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Two has knee on belly momentarily but Munoz bucks him off and regains half guard.
Munoz is staying active underneath Two, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Two thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Munoz's head.

Two is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Munoz is just riding it out for now. Two eventually gives up the hold.

Two looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Two tries to pass the half guard into mount. Munoz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Two is working for a kimura but Munoz is defending it quite comfortably.

Two is stalling here. Munoz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Two seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Munoz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Two sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Two regains full guard. Nicely done.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Munoz throws a strike but Two rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Two tries for a takedown but Munoz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Two stands up over Munoz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Two is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Two is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Munoz sees it coming and defends easily.

Two is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Two trying to control the position from guard on top but Munoz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Two throws a big right hand that misses.

Two stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Munoz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Munoz is pushing Two's head away, looking to escape. Two manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mark Two showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Munoz leaves Two with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mark Two hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Munoz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Two sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Munoz somewhat.
Munoz doesn't manage to clinch there - Two circles away.
Mark Two seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Munoz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Two connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Two is nestled in close to Munoz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
