Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mon Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mon Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brock Steel!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Key misses with a two punch combination.
Steel misses the shot to the body.
No joy there for Key, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Steel dives in and grabs Key's left leg, looking for a takedown. Key pushes down on Steel's head and hops out.

Key rushes Steel and presses him up against the cage.
Steel prevents a takedown attempt there.

Key's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Steel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Key paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Key looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Steel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Key was covering up waiting for the punch and Steel finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Steel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Key is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Key has escaped and now he's on top!

Key might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Steel is trying to control the position but Key postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steel is looking to stand up but Key isn't so interested in that idea.
Steel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Key manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Key wants to stand and escape but Steel is having none of it.

Steel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Steel decides to stand back up. Steel steps back and let's Key get back to his feet.
Key throws a right hand that Steel ducks under and follows up with a left that Steel also avoids with ease.
Key fails to land with a series of punches.
Mon Key is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Key is breathing heavily.
Key throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Steel throws a head kick that misses.
Key tries to clinch but Steel is having none of it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Key enables Steel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Key manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Key keeping full guard, as Steel tries to pass.

Key keeping moving, preventing Steel from controlling successfully.
Key is adopting a defensive guard.
Steel wants to control from the top but Key keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brock Steel wasn't active enough on the ground.
A thudding body kick lands there by Key!
Steel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Steel keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brock Steel will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Key misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Steel blocks a head kick by Key.
Steel swings for the body but Key moves out of range.

Steel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Key prevents Steel from improving position.
Key tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Steel easily slips into full mount!

Steel misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Key is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Steel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Brock Steel has got the better of the ground game so far.
Steel trying to control but Key is having none of it.
Steel lands a big elbow.
Key can't escape the position.
Steel controlling from mount.
Key wants to hold on but Steel pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Key is trying to escape the mount.
Steel controlling from the full mount.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Steel working the ground and pound effectively.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steel scoring with strikes but Key is staying in there.

Key is looking to improve his position but Steel isn't that keen on the idea.
Steel pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
A nice elbow there by Steel.
Steel tries to control but Key wriggling away.

Key is working to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Steel get's back to his feet.
Steel shoots in for a takedown but Key shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
No joy there for Key, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Steel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Key is fending him off so far but Steel persists. Nope, Key circles away and we're back to standing.
Steel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Key sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steel somewhat.
Mon Key has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Steel.
Key tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Key throws a nice head kick!
Steel takes one on the button.
A head kick misses from Steel.
Mon Key is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head kick from Key lands but Steel takes it in his stride.


Steel is rocked!
Key wants to clinch up but Steel keeps it at a distance.
Steel is still on wobbly legs! Can Key finish him?
Steel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Key paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Steel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Key connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Steel covering up! Key comes in with a big uppercut and Steel goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mon Key!
