Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joonas Mustonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joonas Mustonen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mustonen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Mustonen.

Davis feints and as Mustonen raises his hands in defense, Davis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Davis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mustonen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davis has Mustonen in his guard.

Davis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mustonen thuds his right hand into Davis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Mustonen fails to land with a series of punches.
Mustonen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Davis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mustonen pinned against the cage. Mustonen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mustonen lands with a hook. Davis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Mustonen throws the left hand but Davis avoids the punch easily.
Mustonen feints a jab promting Davis to slip. Mustonen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Davis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Davis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davis lands in his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mustonen controls Davis momentarily but Davis frees himself.

Mustonen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Davis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mustonen scores with the left hand. Davis knows he should have avoided that one.
Oh Davis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mustonen throws a monster overhand right that drops Davis! Mustonen follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
