Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Richard Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Tyson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson wants to slow Head down by chopping away at his legs.
Head tries to clinch up

and Tyson counters with a takedown into side control.

Tyson stands up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Head looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A head kick from Head lands but Tyson takes it in his stride.
Head throws a half hearted mid kick.
Head scores with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tyson swings for the body but Head moves out of range.
Tyson stuns Head with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Head stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Head wants it to stay on the feet.
Head tries to clinch up but Tyson circles away and keeps his distance.

Tyson can't break the clinch.

Tyson wants a takedown but no success here.
Head landing knees to the head.
Tyson tries to land knees in the clinch but Head avoids the damage to the body.
Head using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Tyson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Head connects with a knee to the head.

Tyson pulls guard.
Head wants to stand but Tyson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tyson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Tyson has Head pulled in close to control his posture.
Head will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Head knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tyson on the ground.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mike Tyson.
Head throws a head kick but Tyson moves out of range.
Head throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Head is breathing heavily.
Head throws a nice looking combination but Tyson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Head gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tyson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tyson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tyson slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tyson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tyson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Tyson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Head is looking to get back to is feet but Tyson passes into side control.

Tyson controls the position from side control.
Tyson advances to full mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tyson is landing with some decent strikes but Head is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Head tries to land a front kick but Tyson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Tyson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Tyson drives through and clinches with Head against the cage.
Head tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Head throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tyson blocks it with crossed arms.
Head scores with a knee to the head.
Head misses with an elbow over the top.
Tyson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Head gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tyson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Tyson is trying to drag Head to the mat but Head just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
With the fighters up against the cage, Head throws an elbow but misses.

Head throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tyson blocks it with crossed arms.
Head is trying to break the clinch but Tyson has him pressed against the cage.

Head swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Tyson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Head avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Richard Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Tyson.

Head avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tyson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Richard Head is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tyson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Head tries to avoid it but Tyson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Head to the ground. Head escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tyson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Head but Head pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tyson.

Tyson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Head was covering up waiting for the punch and Tyson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tyson is pushing down on Head's leg trying to pass to half guard. Head is fighting to maintain full guard but Tyson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Tyson decides to stand up.

Head tries to sprawl but Tyson drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Head tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Tyson is working for a guillotine from mount but Head frees his head quite easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tyson wants to finish this one by submission but Head is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tyson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Tyson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Head tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Tyson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
