The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia circles away from the clinch attempt.

Garcia dives in and scores a takedown into Nukem's guard.
Nukem utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nukem trying to keep a closed guard but Garcia is proving a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Garcia in particular looking to stall.

Garcia seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Garcia seems content to control.
Nukem holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Garcia looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nukem with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Garcia connects with a nice short shot to Nukem's temple.

Garcia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Garcia postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Nukem to stand up.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nukem takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nukem tries to throw a body punch but Garcia avoids it by throwing Nukem back against the cage.
Nukem lands an elbow that stopped Garcia in his tracks for a moment.

Nukem is pressed up against the cage. Garcia has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nukem down to the mat. Nukem avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Garcia blocks a body shot from Nukem.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Garcia just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nukem's brow.

Oh Garcia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Nukem pushes Garcia against the cage. Nukem is working some dirty boxing. Nukem pushes off with a quick right hook! Garcia goes down! Garcia tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Nukem moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
