Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lazar Plitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Plitt gets a clinch.
Plitt is pressed up against the cage. Gomez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Plitt down to the mat. Plitt avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gomez.
Gomez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Plitt tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Gomez counters with a shoot takedown. Plitt fights it but they end up in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Plitt wants to stand up but Gomez is controlling him.

Gomez drops back looking for a leg! Plitt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plitt manages to kick Gomez off! Gomez jumps back into Plitt's guard.

Gomez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Plitt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Plitt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Plitt!

Plitt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gomez is looking for a sweep.
Gomez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Plitt is trying to control the action in half guard but Gomez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gomez gets full guard.
Plitt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Plitt wants to pass the guard but Gomez is keeping the position.

Plitt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gomez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Plitt has managed to get both his arms back between Gomez's legs - danger averted.

Gomez has his foot on Plitt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Plitt works his way back into a safe position though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gomez keeping moving, preventing Plitt from controlling successfully.

Gomez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Plitt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Plitt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gomez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gomez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Plitt stacks Gomez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Plitt!
Plitt happy to just control the position for now.
Gomez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Plitt's best efforts.

Gomez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Plitt pulls his head out easily.

Plitt frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gomez manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Plitt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gomez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Plitt.
Gomez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Plitt is breathing heavily.

Gomez is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Plitt has his hands clasped together but Gomez extends an breaks Plitt's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gomez.
