Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 wins, 5 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, George Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 wins, 11 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, Rock Random!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy misses with a body kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Kennedy.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Random crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kennedy - the referee stops the clock and Random gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kennedy. Random manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kennedy looks to land a body kick but Random moved away.
Good work by Random as he checks the leg kick.
Random lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kennedy's sensitive parts.
Kennedy tries to score with a low kick but Random moves his leg out of the way.
Random tries to close the distance and clinch but Kennedy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kennedy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Random's guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kennedy wants to pass the guard but Random is keeping the position.

Random is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Random looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Random has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kennedy is working away from the top position though.

George Kennedy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kennedy throws a body kick that misses.

Kennedy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Kennedy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kennedy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Random wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kennedy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Random defends it nicely.
Random shoots in looking for a takedown but Kennedy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Random's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kennedy needs to keep his hands up - Random had a free shot at his head there.
Kennedy throws a solid leg kick but Random takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kennedy.

Kennedy lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kennedy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Random. That did some damage!
Random tries to clinch there but Kennedy circles away.
Kennedy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kennedy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kennedy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kennedy ducks right into an uppercut from Random.
Kennedy dives in and grabs Random's left leg, looking for a takedown. Random pushes down on Kennedy's head and hops out.

Kennedy misses with a kick to the body.
Random throws a big shot that misses.
Random throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kennedy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Random has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Random and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Random lands a nice hook to Kennedy's body. Kennedy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kennedy checks the leg kick.
Kennedy feints and then cracks Random's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Random down.

Kennedy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Random is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kennedy connects with a couple of short punches.

Random doesn't manage to clinch there - Kennedy circles away.
Kennedy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Random's waist but Random gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kennedy off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Kennedy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

so Kennedy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Kennedy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Random looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Random looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Random!

Kennedy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Random wants to control but Kennedy is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Random tries to lock up and control but Kennedy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Kennedy dominated that second round.
That's time! Kennedy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kennedy sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Random connects with a nice short shot to Kennedy's temple.

Random seems to be working for a kimura but Kennedy defends the submission attempt.

Kennedy pulls Random in close to prevent any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Random accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kennedy is adopting a defensive guard.
Kennedy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Random is one step ahead there.
Random trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kennedy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kennedy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Random with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Random looking for a sweep. Not yet Random, not yet.

Random bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kennedy's guard.

Random got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kennedy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Random has managed to get both his arms back between Kennedy's legs - danger averted.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Random is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kennedy has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Random is looking to defend but Kennedy has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Random! Kennedy pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Random taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). George Kennedy!
