The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bacon lands with a hook. Cozad tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Bacon misses with a straight left.
Bacon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cozad.
Chris Bacon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cozad avoids the body shot from Bacon.
Cozad wants to clinch.

Cozad shoots for a double leg takedown but Bacon sprawls well. He's pushed Cozad's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bacon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cozad.

Bacon is looking to wear down Cozad with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Cozad clobbers Bacon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Bacon takes a swing at Cozad's ribcage but misses.
Bacon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cozad's head backwards.
Bacon sizes up Cozad with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Cozad dives in and grabs Bacon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bacon pushes down on Cozad's head and hops out.
Cozad drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Cozad shoots in looking for a takedown. Bacon tries to sprawl out of it but Cozad keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bacon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Cozad counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cozad.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cozad will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bacon up against the cage.
Bacon tries to break the clinch but Cozad is controlling the position.

Cozad has Bacon pressed against the cage, preventing Bacon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cozad ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cozad no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Cozad has an active guard here but Bacon has managed to pass into half guard.

and Cozad holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Cozad has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bacon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bacon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bacon. Cozad does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cozad instigates a clinch.
Bacon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bacon tries to break free but Cozad pushes him back against the cage.
Cozad changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bacon fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Cozad has his foot on Bacon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bacon works his way back into a safe position though.

Cozad throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bacon escapes and throws Cozad's legs to the side, diving into side control!
