Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Mexico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Yoma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mexico might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I want war. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ron Mexico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Yoma!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoma throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yoma throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mexico counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Dave Yoma has been cut.
Yoma tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mexico was well out of range. Poor timing from Yoma.
Yoma moves forwards but Mexico connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Yoma tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Yoma tries a head kick but it misses.
Mexico throws a jab when Yoma was well out of range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Yoma. Mexico shrugs it off though.

Mexico gets caught napping as Yoma dives in and scores a takedown. Mexico manages to retain guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Yoma has gone for a leg lock! Mexico slips out almost immediately though and dives into Yoma's guard.

Yoma has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mexico can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Yoma escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mexico gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mexico wants to control from the top but Yoma keeps moving.

Yoma is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mexico is aware though and is defending well.

Yoma not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Yoma wants to advance to full mount but Mexico doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Mexico lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yoma!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That has opened up Dave Yoma's cut even more.
Yoma tries to hold on but Mexico pushes him away.

The cut above Dave Yoma's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yoma is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Yoma is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Yoma is squirming around, avoiding Mexico's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ron Mexico dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mexico throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mexico misses with a few strikes there.
Mexico lands a right hook to the body.
Mexico fails with a takedown attempt.
Yoma pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yoma connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mexico blocks a leg kick.
Mexico misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mexico uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Yoma has time to react.
Yoma tries to clinch up.
Mexico misses with an uppercut.
Yoma misses with a head kick.
Mexico works the jab nicely.


Dave Yoma's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Jab, jab by Yoma - just one landing.
Mexico shoots for a double leg takedown but Yoma sprawls well. He's pushed Mexico's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yoma lands a lovely overhand right.

and Mexico decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yoma's guard.

Yoma looking for a guillotine here but Mexico defends easily.
Yoma is breathing heavily.
Mexico stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yoma swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yoma had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mexico defends it easily.

Yoma working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mexico doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mexico manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Yoma can't keep his opponent in guard - Mexico advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ron Mexico overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mexico winds up and cracks Yoma with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Mexico works his way into full mount!
Mexico pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dave Yoma's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ron Mexico!
