PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaius Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caesar has chosen Warriors of the World as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, David Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gaius Julius Caesar !
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Caesar misses the target.
Jensen moves away from the strike by Caesar .
Jensen throws a leg kick but Caesar sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Jensen throws a head kick that misses.
Jensen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Caesar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jensen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Caesar is able to avoid easily.
Jensen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Caesar throws out the jab.

A nice leg kick lands there from Jensen.
Caesar takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Gaius Julius Caesar has been cut.
Caesar misses with a hook.
Jensen tries to close the distance and clinch but Caesar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jensen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Caesar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jensen sprawls well initially but Caesar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Caesar connects with a nice short shot to Jensen's temple.
Caesar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jensen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Caesar lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Caesar misses with a head shot. Jensen uses the momentum to regain guard.
Caesar throws an elbow that misses. Jensen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Caesar 's guard. Nice move by Jensen!
Caesar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jensen manages to get himself to full guard.
Caesar throwing strikes from guard but Jensen blocks nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jensen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Caesar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Jensen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Caesar .
Caesar lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jensen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Caesar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jensen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Caesar throws a strike but Jensen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Caesar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jensen's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caesar with a flurry of punches that miss.
Caesar distracts Jensen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Caesar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Caesar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Caesar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Caesar scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Caesar content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Caesar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Caesar throwing strikes from guard but Jensen blocks nicely.
Caesar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


Jensen is rocked!
Caesar loads up on a big left hand. Jensen felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Caesar looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Jensen can't hide his disappointment, as Caesar celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gaius Julius Caesar !
Gaius Julius Caesar decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
