The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giant doesn't manage to clinch there - Derka circles away.

No joy there for Giant, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Derka cracks a nice hook into Giant's ribs.
Giant lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Derka circles away quickly and effectively.
Derka swings for the body but Giant moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Giant enables Derka to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Giant manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Giant feints a jab promting Derka to slip. Giant then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Derka slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Giant seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Giant has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Derka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Derka throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Giant's waist but Giant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Derka off to one side.
