The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Mind misses with a few strikes there.
Smirnov takes one to the chin there.
Mind throws a hook but Smirnov blocks it.
Smirnov fails with the takedown.
Ruslan Smirnov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smirnov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Smirnov dives in and grabs Mind's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mind pushes down on Smirnov's head and hops out.
Smirnov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mind lands a right hook to the body.
Mind fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mind connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Smirnov drops his hands momentarily and Mind takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Mind connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smirnov. Smirnov circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Smirnov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smirnov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mind is squirming around, avoiding Smirnov's attempts to control the action.

Smirnov throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Mind has his hands clasped together but Smirnov breaks the hold and Mind is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Smirnov!
