Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cousineau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Cousineau!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cousineau blocks a head kick by Hall.
A leg kick checked by Hall.
Cousineau stuffs the takedown attempt from Hall. Hall gets slowly back to his feet.
Hall tries to clinch up but Cousineau circles away and keeps his distance.
Hall shoots for a takedown but Cousineau saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hall is looking to clinch.
Hall will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gary Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hall closes the distance and clinches up with Cousineau, looking for a takedown. Hall pushes Cousineau against the cage but Cousineau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cousineau throws a leg kick but Hall sees it coming and moves out of range.
Cousineau fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cousineau has managed to clinch.
Hall fails to pull guard.

Cousineau pulls guard effortlessly.
Cousineau lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Hall tries to free his leg and advance position but Cousineau is retaining full guard.
Cousineau trying to keep a closed guard but Hall is proving a slippery customer.

Hall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cousineau looking for a guillotine here but Hall defends easily.

Hall trying to control but Cousineau is working from the bottom.
Cousineau really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hall tries to free his leg and advance position but Cousineau is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cousineau moves into the clinch successfully.

Cousineau breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cousineau scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hall manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, if Cousineau is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hall pulls Cousineau in close to prevent any damage.

Hall looking for a guillotine here but Cousineau defends easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hall is on top in guard.

Hall drops back looking for a leg! Cousineau is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cousineau manages to kick Hall off! Hall jumps back into Cousineau's guard.
Hall forces his way into half guard.
Hall has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hall wants to control the pace but Cousineau is squirming around nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hall wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Hall swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gary Hall!
