Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, dave johnson!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis wants to land a leg kick but johnson is out of range.
johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Davis wants to clinch up but johnson keeps it at a distance.
johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
johnson keeps the fight on the outside.

Davis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Davis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
johnson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

johnson tries to lock up and control but Davis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Davis looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Davis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Davis creates some space and throws a big elbow, but johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
johnson dodges the ground and pound from Davis.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Johnny Davis just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Davis is working for takedown but johnson is calmly controlling the position for now.
johnson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Davis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

johnson wants to get back to his feet but Davis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Davis takes a little break here. johnson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Davis advances to full mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Davis looking to control and managing it successfully.
johnson is looking to improve his position but Davis isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Davis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Davis has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but johnson regains guard immediately.
Davis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
johnson is trying to control the position but Davis postures up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Davis stays in close to johnson's body and controls the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
johnson has his takedown stuffed

and Davis counters with a nice double leg into side control. johnson won't be happy with that.
Johnny Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

johnson is not content to let Davis control the position.
A lull in the action here as Davis stalls from top position.

Davis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Davis lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
dave johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Johnny Davis showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Davis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
