Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stran Gler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Jiminez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stran Gler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabriel Jiminez!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jiminez leaves Gler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Gler counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jiminez's guard now.
Jiminez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jiminez can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gler is looking to work some ground and pound but Jiminez has wrist control.

Jiminez doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Gler is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jiminez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jiminez goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gler on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Gler has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jiminez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stran Gler. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gler gets control of Jiminez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gler will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jiminez distracts Gler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Gler has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jiminez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gler.
Gler tries to bench press Jiminez off him but Jiminez keeps the position.
Jiminez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jiminez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Jiminez controls the position.
Jiminez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gler keeps working.
Jiminez works to advance to full mount. Gler defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jiminez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jiminez wants to control the pace but Gler is squirming around nicely.
Stran Gler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jiminez looking to control but Gler is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Jiminez avoids the attempt from Gler to control.
Gler is looking to improve his position but Jiminez isn't that keen on the idea.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jiminez can't control as he wanted to and Gler manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stran Gler will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jiminez doesn't manage to clinch there - Gler circles away.

Gler is trying to pull guard but Jiminez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jiminez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gler swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
