The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turak with a poor takedown
and Gustafsson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Turak moves out of range of the body kick.
Gustafsson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Turak is able to avoid easily.
Turak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gustafsson sprawls well. Gustafsson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Turak gets slowly back to his feet.

Gustafsson is trying to trip Turak. He has hold of a leg but Turak is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gustafsson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Turak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gustafsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gustafsson postures up in Turak's guard and throws a big left but Turak blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alexander Gustafsson.
Gustafsson shoots in for a takedown but Turak shows good takedown defense.

Turak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gustafsson quickly recovers to half guard.

Gustafsson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turak's guard.

Gustafsson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gustafsson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Turak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gustafsson as he avoids it easily.

Gustafsson has his feet on Turak's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Nice takedown defense from Gustafsson. No joy for Turak on that attempt.

Turak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gustafsson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Turak is in Gustafsson's guard.

Gustafsson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Turak defends well.

Gustafsson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gustafsson extends the arm and Turak is forced to tap!
