The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz with a lazy takedown attempt
and West counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Schultz is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Schultz shoots in for a takedown but West shows good takedown defense.

Schultz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching West on his heels. He'll look to pass West's guard now, I'm sure.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
