Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leo Wallin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ling Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ling Ling is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ling Ling!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallin instigates a clinch.

Ling really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wallin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wallin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We're going to have a standup here because Leo Wallin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Wallin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Ling throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wallin shoots in for a takedown but Ling shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ling defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wallin.
Wallin shoots in and drives through. Ling sprawls well.

Wallin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wallin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ling stuffs the takedown attempt from Wallin. Wallin gets slowly back to his feet.
Wallin explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Wallin connects with a leg kick. Ling looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Wallin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ling tries to avoid it but Wallin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ling to the ground. Ling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wallin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ling's guard.

Wallin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ling looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ling looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ling!

Wallin is pushing Ling's head away, looking to escape. Ling manages to hold on to the position though.

Leo Wallin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wallin shoots in looking for a takedown. Ling tries to sprawl out of it but Wallin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ling manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well Wallin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
