Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rene Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azad Naja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rene Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Azad Naja!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez gets caught flat footed, as Naja shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Naja pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perez is keeping the position for now.
Naja wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving.
Naja forces his way into half guard.
Perez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Naja passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Perez!
Perez is working to get back to half guard.
Perez wants to hold on but Naja pushes him away.

Naja is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Perez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Naja looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Perez tries to lock up and control but Naja gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Perez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Naja on the ground.
Naja throws some wild stikes that Perez manages to avoid easily.
Naja tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Naja prevents Perez from getting the reversal.
Perez wants to hold on but Naja pushes him away.

Naja working for a submission but Perez is keeping him at bay.

Naja wants to take Perez's back here but Perez is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Naja is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Perez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Perez shrugs it off.
Naja can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perez is looking to escape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Naja with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Naja is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Perez has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Perez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Perez tries to get out of the position.

Naja is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Perez is surviving well by controlling Naja's body position as best he can.
Naja tries to control but Perez wriggling away.
Perez can't escape the position.
Perez tries to hold on but Naja pushes him away.

Naja wants to control the pace but Perez is squirming around nicely.
Naja wants to take his opponent's back but Perez doesn't allow it.
Perez is trying desperately to improve position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Naja moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Perez has worked his arm free - good work by Perez!
Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Azad Naja dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Perez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Naja looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Naja manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Naja seems to be working for a kimura but Perez defends the submission attempt.
Naja works his way into side control.

Naja has control of an arm but Perez manages to advance to Naja's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez tries to get the hooks in deep but Naja pushed the leg off.
Naja turns into Perez and is now in his guard.

Perez controlling the position.
Naja passes Perez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Naja moves into full mount! Perez won't be happy about that!
Perez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Naja.
Azad Naja has got the better of the ground game so far.
Naja wants to take Perez's back but he can't do it this time.

Naja moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Perez has worked his arm free - good work by Perez!

Naja wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Perez, who protects the arm well.

Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Perez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Naja wants to control but Perez is keeping him busy.
Perez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Naja can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perez is looking to escape.

Naja takes Perez's back.

Naja looking for the RNC.

Perez is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Naja looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Perez is controlling Naja 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Naja looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Perez is defending well. Naja quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Perez has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Naja celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Azad Naja!
