Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trent Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nintendo Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severn comes to the cage accompanied by White Zombie - Electric Head: The Extasy (Pt 2). Takada is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Super Mario Bros Theme Soundtrack . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trent Severn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nintendo Takada!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Takada avoids the body shot from Severn.
Takada shoots in for a takedown but Severn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Takada shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Severn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Severn throws a looping overhand right but Takada ducks down to avoid it.
Severn is looking to clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Trent Severn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nintendo Takada.

Takada closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Takada goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Severn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Takada's guard! Nice work there by Severn!
Severn won't allow Takada to sweep him here.
Takada is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Takada lands a really nice looking cross but Severn seems unphased.
Takada lands with a kick to the temple. Severn shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Severn steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Takada. That one must have hurt.
Severn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Takada cracks a nice hook into Severn's ribs.
Takada throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Trent Severn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takada slips a jab and a cross from Severn.
Severn throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Severn connects with a right hand. Takada shakes it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Severn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takada doesn't seem bothered though.

and Takada counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Severn thinking.

That kick from Takada tenderised Severn's leg. Severn is trying to keep his angry face on.

Severn throws a jab but it's blocked by Takada.
Severn misses with a body shot
and Takada counters with a nice body shot.
Severn misses with an uppercut. Takada saw that one coming.
Takada throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Takada tries to work over Severn's front leg with a kick but Severn checks it.
Takada lands with a thumping leg kick.
Takada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Severn pinned against the cage. Severn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Severn throws a lazy right hand but Takada sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Severn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Takada has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Severn has managed to get both his arms back between Takada's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takada is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Severn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

It looks like Trent Severn has been cut.

Takada swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Severn is now in Takada's guard. A big mistake from Takada there, giving up the dominant position!
Oh Severn is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Severn is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Takada controls Severn momentarily but Severn frees himself.
Takada is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Nintendo Takada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
