Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleks Lyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Caine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aleks Lyon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gabriel Caine!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caine shoots in but Lyon avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gabriel Caine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Caine misses with a takedown attempt - Lyon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lyon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Caine scores with a three punch combo!
Lyon checks the leg kick nicely there.
Caine tries to bum rush Lyon with a series of wild strikes but Lyon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lyon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Caine.
Caine closes the distance but Lyon moves to the side
and Lyon counters with a slapping leg kick.

Lyon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Caine won't allow Lyon to pass to mount.
Lyon could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lyon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Caine's head.

Lyon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Caine keeps working.

Lyon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lyon is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Caine reverses the position - he's now on top in Lyon's guard.
Lyon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lyon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Caine stacks Lyon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Caine!
Lyon is breathing heavily.

Caine throws an elbow but Lyon slips to the side and avoids it well.

Caine decides to stand back up.
Caine keeps the fight on the outside.
Caine rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lyon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lyon is looking to clinch.
Lyon is looking to slow Caine down with leg kicks.
Caine lands the left hand.

Lyon gets a takedown into half guard.
Lyon is looking to pass Caine's guard but actually Caine recovers to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Caine wants to stand and escape but Lyon is having none of it.
Caine keeping full guard, as Lyon tries to pass.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lyon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Caine is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Aleks Lyon will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Caine misses with a takedown attempt

and Lyon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Caine!
Lyon looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Lyon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Caine hang on?

Caine is rocked!
Lyon breaks from Caine's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Caine is still in real trouble! Can Lyon finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Lyon trying to control but Caine is having none of it.
Lyon lands a big shot there that rocks Caine but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lyon loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Caine scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Lyon land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Lyon stands and salutes the crowd.
