Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Coulton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Coulton is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gabriel Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Coulton!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Key shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Coulton's guard.
Coulton wants to stand up but Key is controlling him.

Key is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Coulton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Coulton has escaped and now he's on top!
Key wants to improve his position but instead Coulton has moved into half guard.

Coulton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Key could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Key gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

and Coulton counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Key drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Coulton dives on top into guard.

Key is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Key trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Coulton manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Coulton wants to control but Key is keeping him busy.

Coulton has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Coulton looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Key tries to improve his position but instead Coulton has taken his back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coulton controlling the position well here. Key rolled but Coulton kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Let's hope that Coulton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Coulton is trying to stick to Key's back but Key is turning into Coulton. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Coulton's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Key.

Key passes Coulton's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coulton connects with a nice short shot to Key's temple.

Despite being in the dominant position, Thomas Coulton just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
