The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nikki somewhat.
Jackson loads up on a big right hand but Nikki slips the punch.
Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Nikki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nikki shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.
Nikki staying out of range there.
Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nikki circles away quickly and effectively.
Nikki shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Nikki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sloppy strikes from Jackson. Those never looked like landing.

Nikki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nikki off to one side.
Nikki moves out of range as Jackson strikes.
Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nikki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jackson throws out the jab.

Nikki shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Nikki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nikki lands in his opponent's guard.

Nikki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nikki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nikki is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well.
