PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keni Farc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petey Brackins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brackins has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Petey Brackins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Keni Farc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Petey Brackins!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Farc forces Brackins back against the cage and clinches.
Brackins looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Farc is working for takedown but Brackins is calmly controlling the position for now.
Farc keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brackins's efforts to push away.
Farc using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Farc pulls guard effortlessly.

Farc pushes Brackins off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Farc darts in and clinches Brackins up against the cage.
Brackins should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Farc pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Farc darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Farc is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Farc seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brackins for as long as he can get away with.

Farc seems to be working for a kimura but Brackins defends the submission attempt.
Farc moves into full mount! Brackins won't be happy about that!
Farc thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Farc is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brackins to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brackins shrugs it off.

Farc stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Petey Brackins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Farc rushes Brackins and presses him up against the cage.

Farc gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Farc postures up in Brackins's guard and throws a big left but Brackins blocks it.
Farc advances position into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Farc decides to stand back up. Farc steps back and let's Brackins get back to his feet.

Farc closes the distance and clinches.
Farc connects with a nasty looking knee right to Brackins's face.

Farc manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Farc is defended easily by Brackins.

Farc drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Farc gets to his feet. Brackins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Farc closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Farc pulls guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brackins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Farc lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brackins!
Farc looking to control and managing it successfully.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Farc is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brackins can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Farc moves into the clinch.
Farc makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Farc looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Farc is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brackins is aware though and is defending well.

Farc will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brackins is breathing heavily.

Farc has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Brackins off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Farc stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Farc throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brackins was covering up waiting for the punch and Farc finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Brackins throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Farc escapes and throws Brackins's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The referee asks Farc politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Farc prefers to stall for the moment though.

Farc decides to stand back up.

Farc shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brackins as he avoids it easily.

Keni Farc is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Farc shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brackins pinned against the cage. Brackins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Farc thuds his shin into the meat of Brackins's side.
Petey Brackins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Farc moves into the clinch.

Farc escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brackins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Farc.

Brackins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brackins tries to bum rush Farc with a series of wild strikes but Farc uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Farc looking to score a takedown here. Brackins is defending well but Farc drives through and ends up in Brackins's guard.
Farc trying to control the position from guard on top but Brackins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Farc controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Farc is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brackins can do to turn this around?
Brackins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Farc stands up from Brackins's guard - Farc perhaps looking for a knockout.

Farc drives through and clinches with Brackins against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Farc's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Farc shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brackins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Farc is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Brackins can't keep his opponent in guard - Farc advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Farc works his foot free and advances to mount.
Brackins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Farc is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Farc misses with a series of wild punches.
Farc swings for the body but Brackins moves out of range.

Farc shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Farc uses his free foot to push down on Brackins's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brackins.
Keni Farc overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brackins can't escape the position.
Brackins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Farc. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Farc avoids the attempt from Brackins to control.

Farc with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Farc is trying to trip Brackins. He has hold of a leg but Brackins is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Farc persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Farc is looking to work some ground and pound but Brackins has wrist control.

Brackins looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Farc passes Brackins's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Farc escapes and gets back to his feet.
