PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kicky McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Schrute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schrute has chosen Thunderstruck by AC DC as his entrance music. McGee is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Dwight Schrute is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kicky McGee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dwight Schrute!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Schrute if he has to take too many more of those.
McGee is breathing heavily.

McGee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schrute to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Schrute is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like Schrute might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dwight Schrute was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Schrute dives in and scores a takedown into McGee's guard.
Schrute wants to pass the guard but McGee is keeping the position.
Schrute is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Schrute pushes down on McGee's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Schrute is looking for a kimura but McGee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Schrute to get the leverage.

Schrute gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Schrute feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schrute engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Schrute tries to free his leg and advance position but McGee is retaining full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dwight Schrute hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Schrute dives in and grabs McGee's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGee pushes down on Schrute's head and hops out.
Schrute misses with the combination.
Schrute lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGee circles away quickly and effectively.
Schrute throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McGee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Schrute.

Schrute fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McGee to the ground. Schrute is now in McGee's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Schrute trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schrute is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kicky McGee just wasn't active enough.
Schrute fails to land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dwight Schrute dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McGee stuffs the takedown attempt from Schrute. Schrute gets slowly back to his feet.
Schrute fails to land the takedown.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dwight Schrute wasn't active enough on the ground.
Schrute misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Schrute throws a right and a left that McGee avoids nicely.
Schrute throws a nice looking combination but McGee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Schrute catches McGee with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and McGee forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
