The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens misses with a hook
and Taylor counters with a left and a right that stings Owens.
Taylor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Taylor throws a lazy head kick
and Owens counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Taylor takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Jesse Taylor has been cut.
Taylor walks into a stiff left hand from Owens.

Owens blocks a head kick by Taylor.

Owens cracks Taylor with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Taylor looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Owens finish him?

and Taylor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Owens's guard.

Taylor sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Taylor shoots for a double leg takedown but Owens sprawls well. He's pushed Taylor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Taylor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Owens.
Owens has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Owens there as he acknowledges the shot.

Taylor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That has opened up Jesse Taylor's cut even more.
Taylor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Owens was well out of range. Poor timing from Taylor.

Owens misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dupree Owens is winning the standup battle so far.
Taylor tries a head kick but it misses.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Owens.
Taylor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dupree Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Taylor.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Owens comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Owens lands with a straight right. Taylor didn't see that one coming.

and Owens counters with a left and a right... And another left! Taylor is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
