Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ziggy Vondopoulos!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Vondopoulos.
De Groote shoots in and bounces Vondopoulos off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Vondopoulos has his hands on De Groote's head, controlling the position.
De Groote trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
De Groote drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vondopoulos dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vondopoulos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Vondopoulos's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
De Groote working for a triangle but Vondopoulos defends it easily.
Vondopoulos controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
De Groote keeping full guard, as Vondopoulos tries to pass.
Vondopoulos sitting in guard, not really doing much.
De Groote looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vondopoulos is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now De Groote is on top in guard.
Vondopoulos is trying to control the position but De Groote postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

De Groote is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vondopoulos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vondopoulos has escaped and now he's on top!
Vondopoulos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

De Groote looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Vondopoulos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Groote swivels though and keeps the full guard.

De Groote is breathing heavily.
De Groote lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vondopoulos!
Vondopoulos is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. De Groote locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Vondopoulos is forced to tap!
