Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kappi Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timi Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bateman's entrance music is 20th century boy. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hendrix's choice of entrance music: Are You Experienced- The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Timi Hendrix!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendrix shoots in but no luck this time.
Bateman dips to his left and cracks Hendrix with an uppercut!
Bateman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hendrix misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bateman throws a sloppy head kick and Hendrix moves out of range easily.
Bateman fails to land with a series of punches.
Hendrix throws a low kick, looking for Bateman's leg but Bateman calmly moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bateman. Hendrix does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hendrix has his takedown stuffed
and Bateman counters with a three punch combo that has Hendrix backing up. Hendrix nods at Bateman to acknowledge the strikes.
Bateman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hendrix looks to land a combination but Bateman avoids it well.
Bateman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hendrix misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bateman.

Bateman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hendrix doesn't seem bothered though.

Timi Hendrix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bateman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hendrix.

Hendrix shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kappi Bateman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timi Hendrix.
Hendrix takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Hendrix shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bateman as he avoids it easily.
Hendrix shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bateman sprawls well. Bateman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hendrix gets slowly back to his feet.
Hendrix slips a jab and a cross from Bateman.

Bateman fails to land with a series of punches.
Hendrix is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bateman keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hendrix tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hendrix throws a lazy uppercut
and Bateman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hendrix is still on wobbly legs! Can Bateman finish him?

Hendrix closes the distance and pushes Bateman back into the cage.
Hendrix looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Hendrix seems to have recovered his senses.
Hendrix wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bateman has him pressed against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Bateman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bateman throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hendrix throws a good cross that connects.
Good work by Bateman as he checks the leg kick.
Bateman throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Bateman feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hendrixs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Bateman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hendrix misses with a jab, cross combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bateman fails to land with a series of punches.
Horrible takedown by Hendrix or perhaps it was just good defense by Bateman which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kappi Bateman dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bateman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hendrix's sensitive parts.
Hendrix tries for a takedown but Bateman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hendrix takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Bateman effectively controlling the action here.
Hendrix managing to block the knees to the body from Bateman.
Hendrix is trying to break free.
Knees in the clinch landing for Bateman.
A frustrated look appears on Hendrix's face as he tries to break the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hendrix.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Bateman obliges.
Hendrix is breathing heavily.
Bateman is struggling to control the position.
Bateman seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Bateman for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Kappi Bateman.
Hendrix needs to keep his hands up - Bateman had a free shot at his head there.
Bateman swinging wildly here.
Bateman throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hendrix's head.
Bateman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hendrix throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Good work by Bateman as he checks the leg kick.
Hendrix shoots in looking for a takedown but Bateman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hendrix's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kappi Bateman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timi Hendrix.

Hendrix swings widly with a right hand

and Bateman counters with a crisp one two that drops Hendrix! Bateman thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hendrix to his feet! Hendrix is in big trouble!

Bateman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hendrix.
Bateman cracks Hendrix with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Hendrix tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Bateman pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Hendrix is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kappi Bateman!
