The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rowe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Rowe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.

You get the feeling that Rowe really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Rowe tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
Rowe can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rowe can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rowe is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Rowe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rowe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rowe can't do much from the bottom here.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
