PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julle Pwner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Man Alive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pwner has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Man Alive is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alive has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pwner finds it's way round the side to connect with Alive's head.
Alive shoots in for a takedown but Pwner shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Alive is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Alive throws a push kick but Pwner slaps the foot to one side.
Pwner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alive stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pwner misses with a wild body shot.
Pwner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Alive wants to clinch up but Pwner keeps it at a distance.
Alive fails with the takedown.
Pwner fails to land with a series of punches.
Pwner is breathing heavily.
Pwner scores with a nice head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alive tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pwner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alive is defended easily by Pwner.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pwner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pwner wants it to stay on the feet.
Alive shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Alive displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pwner throws out the jab.

Alive is trying desperately to land a takedown but Pwner is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Alive.
Alive changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pwner tries to avoid it but Alive manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pwner to the ground. Pwner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alive tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pwner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pwner explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

and Alive counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alive shoots in but no luck this time.
Alive shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pwner pinned against the cage. Pwner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pwner changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Alive counters with a three punch combo that has Pwner backing up. Pwner nods at Alive to acknowledge the strikes.
Pwner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alive fails with a takedown attempt.

Pwner fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Alive on the side of the head.

Pwner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alive moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pwner throws a hook but Alive blocks it.
Pwner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Pwner throws a sloppy head kick

and Alive counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pwner wants to get back to his feet.

Alive is looking for a kimura but Pwner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alive to get the leverage.
Alive throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alive is controlling the pace.
Pwner wants to get back to his feet.

Alive decides to stand and escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice takedown defense from Pwner. No joy for Alive on that attempt.

Alive throws a right hand that Pwner ducks under and follows up with a left that Pwner also avoids with ease.

A punch lands to the side of Alive 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Alive is trying to pull guard but Pwner has him pressed against the cage.

Pwner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pwner throws a head kick but Alive moves out of range.
Alive tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pwner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alive somewhat.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alive clinches up with Pwner and pushes him back against the cage.

Pwner is trying to push Alive away but Alive has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Pwner wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Alive tries to pull guard but Pwner won't allow it.
Pwner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Alive jumps guard but Pwner turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Alive gets control of Pwner's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alive will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Pwner wants to get up but he can't break Alive's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Alive is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Alive has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pwner should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Alive has tightened it up now! Pwner should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
