Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Gaggenwanker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexsander Materovic!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Materovic moves into the clinch successfully.

Materovic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Materovic gets tackled into the cage by Gaggenwanker. Gaggenwanker maintains the clinch.

Materovic pulls guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Materovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gaggenwanker is pushing down on Materovic's leg trying to pass to half guard. Materovic is fighting to maintain full guard but Gaggenwanker has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gaggenwanker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Materovic sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gaggenwanker is looking to take a break and control but Materovic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Materovic looking for submissions off his back.
Still in half guard, Gaggenwanker seems content to control.

Gaggenwanker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Materovic doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gaggenwanker.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gaggenwanker controlling the pace.
Gaggenwanker seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Materovic missing with punches from the bottom.
Gaggenwanker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Materovic trying to hold on to Gaggenwanker's head to control him but Gaggenwanker postures up.

Gaggenwanker is trying to work for a kimura but Materovic is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gaggenwanker not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Materovic gets back to full guard.
Gaggenwanker throws a big elbow that misses.

Gaggenwanker has gone for a leg lock! Materovic slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gaggenwanker's guard.
Materovic lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Materovic advances position into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
You can see the frustration on Gaggenwanker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gaggenwanker is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Materovic off and has taken his back!
Materovic just trying to survive but Gaggenwanker is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Materovic is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Materovic trying to get back to his feet but Gaggenwanker is in full control for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gaggenwanker is cranking Materovic's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Materovic! He's tightened the choke and Materovic is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Greg Gaggenwanker!
