Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Fredriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fredriksson comes to the cage accompanied by Shurik'n - Samourai . Nelson has chosen Gin and Juice the country version as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fredriksson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nelson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fredriksson tries to move into range but Nelson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Nelson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nelson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fredriksson moves out of range as Nelson throws a body kick.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fredriksson sprawls well. Fredriksson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet.

Nelson closes the distance and clinches up with Fredriksson, looking for a takedown. Nelson pushes Fredriksson against the cage but Fredriksson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fredriksson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nelson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nelson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nelson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fredriksson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

I really don't envy Nelson right now.

Fredriksson is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Nelson has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Fredriksson has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Nelson taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Fredriksson doesn't care though - he's delighted!
