Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis checks the leg kick.

Desmond drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pettis keeps Desmond under control for a moment.
Pettis manages to get back to half guard.
Desmond not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Pettis has hold of Desmond's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Desmond manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Anthony Pettis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Desmond has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pettis uses from the top position.

Well Pettis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
