The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTwist shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Powers as he avoids it easily.
Powers looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
McTwist misses the jab.
McTwist shoots in but Powers avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McTwist instigates a clinch.

Powers manages to break the clinch.
Fingers McTwist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McTwist fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Powers sprawls well initially but McTwist persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Powers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McTwist is working away from the top position though.

Horrible takedown by McTwist or perhaps it was just good defense by Powers which made him look bad.

Powers is looking to take a break and control but McTwist is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Powers connects with a nice short shot to McTwist's temple.

McTwist pushes Powers off looking to stand but Powers dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McTwist can't keep his opponent in guard - Powers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

McTwist wants to sweep but no luck.
McTwist might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Powers prevents McTwist from getting back to his feet.
McTwist looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fingers McTwist.
I think McTwist has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
