The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Jeremy Cornish has been cut.

Stryker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cornish shoots in looking for a takedown. Stryker tries to sprawl out of it but Cornish keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Stryker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jab, jab by Stryker - just one landing.
Stryker swings for the body but Cornish moves out of range.
Stryker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cornish.

Johnny Stryker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cornish uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stryker.
Stryker lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stryker.

Cornish looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stryker is fending him off so far but Cornish persists. Nope, Stryker circles away and we're back to standing.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cornish. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stryker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cornish is trying to drag Stryker to the mat but Stryker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Stryker looking to sit in guard and control but Cornish gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cornish drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stryker dives on top into guard.
Stryker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cornish seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Stryker slaps away a takedown attempt from Cornish, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Johnny Stryker seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Stryker connects with a body shot that sends Cornish's belly button to the back.
Stryker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cornish was well out of range. Poor timing from Stryker.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cornish.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Cornish goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Stryker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cornish but great work by Stryker.

Stryker is trying to control the action in half guard but Cornish is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cornish looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Stryker throws an elbow that misses. Cornish uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stryker's guard. Nice move by Cornish!

Cornish drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stryker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cornish has Stryker in his guard.

Cornish seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stryker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cornish is proving hard to escape from.

Stryker wants to control from the top but Cornish keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Stryker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cornish.
Cornish sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stryker wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Stryker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Stryker throws a combination. Cornish tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Stryker smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Stryker scores with a nice right hand.
Stryker lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Stryker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stryker scores with a punch to the head.

Stryker tries to sprawl but Cornish drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stryker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cornish is working away from the top position though.

Cornish is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Stryker works his way to full guard. Good work.
Cornish seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Stryker wants to get back to his feet but Cornish is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cornish looking to sit in guard and control but Stryker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stryker sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Cornish doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Stryker paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Cornish - great work!
