The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Vitonen cracks Kongo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like Cheick Kongo has been cut.
Vitonen looks to score with a jab to the body but Kongo is just out of range.
Kongo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vitonen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kongo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vitonen throws out the jab.

Vitonen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Cheick Kongo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kongo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vitonen doesn't seem bothered though.
Kongo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Vitonen rather than just go for the knockout.

Kongo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Vitonen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Kongo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Vitonen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oh Vitonen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kongo feints a jab and as Vitonen dips his head, Kongo unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Vitonen right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Vitonen falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Kongo smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Cheick Kongo!
Cheick Kongo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
