Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denard Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pate Paukuttaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denard Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pate Paukuttaja!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paukuttaja thuds his right hand into Black's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


It looks like Denard Black has been cut.
Paukuttaja staying out of range there.
Black throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pate Paukuttaja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Black on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Black pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Paukuttaja back to the ropes. Black follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Pate Paukuttaja has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black throws a hook but Paukuttaja avoids it easily.
Black looks to land a combination but Paukuttaja avoids it well.
Black swinging wildly here.
Paukuttaja closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Paukuttaja pushes Black against the ropes but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Good shot there by Paukuttaja.
Paukuttaja takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Black misses with a double jab.
Paukuttaja drops his hands momentarily and Black takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Black throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Paukuttaja.
Paukuttaja throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Paukuttaja thuds his right hand into Black's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Black needs to keep his hands up - Paukuttaja had a free shot at his head there.
Black has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Black there as he acknowledges the shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paukuttaja connects with a right hand. Black shakes it off.


Denard Black's cut is getting worse.
Paukuttaja fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Black on the side of the head.
Black misses with a double jab.
Black listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Paukuttaja is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Black had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Paukuttaja thows a left - swing and a miss!
Black will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Paukuttaja dodges the punch combination from Black.
Black tries to bum rush Paukuttaja with a series of wild strikes but Paukuttaja uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Paukuttaja shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Black is trying to defend but Paukuttaja finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.


Black is rocked!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Paukuttaja is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Oh Black is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Paukuttaja is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Black defends it well.
Black seems to have got his legs back now.
Black is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paukuttaja is taking a breather. Black says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Paukuttaja wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working.
Paukuttaja seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pate Paukuttaja hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Paukuttaja feints a jab promting Black to slip. Paukuttaja then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Black slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paukuttaja is looking to clinch but Black is avoiding it.
Black listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Paukuttaja misses with a few strikes there.

Paukuttaja gets a double leg takedown into Black's guard.

Black has his feet on Paukuttaja's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Paukuttaja misses with a jab, cross combination.
Paukuttaja slips a jab and a cross from Black.
Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Paukuttaja throws out a powerful jab.
Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Paukuttaja throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Black clobbers Paukuttaja with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Paukuttaja just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Black misses with a looping right.
Paukuttaja digs a good body shot into Black's ribs.
Paukuttaja drops Black with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Black! Paukuttaja dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pate Paukuttaja!
In his post fight interview, Pate Paukuttaja started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
