The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Reed.
No joy there for Monson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reed avoids the body shot from Monson.
Reed chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Monson can pounce on him.
Monson tries to close the distance and clinch but Reed swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Monson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Reed's sensitive parts.
Monson throws a nice looking combination but Reed bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Reed takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Reed is trying to drag Monson to the mat but Monson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
