Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Keats!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Keats clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage.

Keats breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Keats.
Keats throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
King slips a jab and a cross from Keats.
Keats throws a series of punches but King avoids them all with ease.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Keats is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Keats circles away and we're back to standing.
Keats will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Keats misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from King.
King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Keats sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.
King throws a series of punches but Keats avoids them all with ease.

Scott King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
King shoots in looking for a takedown. Keats tries to sprawl out of it but King keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keats manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Keats lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

King on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

King throws a looping overhand right but Keats ducks down to avoid it.

King misses with a series of wild punches.

King tries to move into range but Keats moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Keats's waist but Keats gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Keats is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Keats has passed into side control.

King tries to bench press Keats off him but Keats keeps the position.
Keats cracks King with a big right hand but King just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Keats is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jim Keats showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Keats lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Keats rushes King and presses him up against the cage.
King wants to get back to striking at distance but Keats won't allow it.

Keats breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Keats lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but King circles away quickly and effectively.
King swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
King takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A looping hook to the body misses from King. Keats does a little dance to reset his feet.
Keats steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King.

Keats gets caught napping as King dives in and scores a takedown. Keats manages to retain guard.

King controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

King trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Keats manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Jim Keats comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Keats has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
