Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Megani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amnuay Saenpong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saenpong comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Everyone Bleeds now - Hatebreed kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Luigi Megani has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Megani scores with a takedown into Saenpong's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Saenpong is trying to keep Megani in close.
Megani postures up in Saenpong's guard and throws a big left but Saenpong blocks it.
Megani trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Saenpong wants to sweep but no luck.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saenpong can do anything to dispel that myth.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Megani accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Megani stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saenpong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Megani is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Megani won't allow Saenpong to sweep him here.

Saenpong tries to free his leg and advance position but Megani is retaining full guard.
Saenpong slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Megani wants to stand but Saenpong is controlling the position.
Megani is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Good leg kick by Saenpong there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Megani throws an overhand right that lands on Saenpong's shoulder, as Saenpong tries to avoid the shot.
Megani moves out of range of the strikes.
Saenpong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saenpong connects with a jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Saenpong. Megani does a little dance to reset his feet.
Megani throws a looping overhand right but Saenpong ducks down to avoid it.
Saenpong misses with a low kick.
Megani throws a lazy right hand but Saenpong sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Megani throws a lazy uppercut
and Saenpong counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Megani is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Megani drives through with a takedown into Saenpong's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Saenpong controls Megani momentarily but Megani frees himself.
Megani throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Saenpong works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Saenpong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Megani lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Saenpong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saenpong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Megani walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Megani misses with a looping right.
Megani throws a jab but it's blocked by Saenpong.

enabling Saenpong to counter with a crisp jab.
Saenpong missing with a left hand there. Megani was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Megani looks to land a left hand but Saenpong moved out of range nicely.
Megani chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Saenpong can pounce on him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Saenpong attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Saenpong fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Megani is out of range.
Saenpong uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Megani.
Megani is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Saenpong's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Megani takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Megani takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Saenpong cracks Megani with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Saenpong looks to score with a jab to the body but Megani is just out of range.

Megani decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Saenpong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Megani works his way into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Megani.
Saenpong tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Megani wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saenpong keeps working.
Megani is working Saenpong over with some ground and pound from side control.
Saenpong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Luigi Megani overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Megani has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Saenpong!
Saenpong is looking to get to half guard.
Saenpong wants to control but Megani is having none of it.
Saenpong can't escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Megani cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Amnuay Saenpong has been cut.
Megani loads up with a big shot that hurts Saenpong! He's pulled Megani in close but Megani has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Saenpong survive? More strikes from Megani and Saenpong is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
