Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Boudreau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Makahlen Gorbachoff!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boudreau rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gorbachoff connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Michael Boudreau has been cut.
Boudreau could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Boudreau tries for a takedown but Gorbachoff circles away easily
and Gorbachoff counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Boudreau fails with the takedown.
Boudreau tries to keep at a distance but Gorbachoff has taken the fight into the clinch.
Boudreau is trying to drag Gorbachoff to the mat but Gorbachoff just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Boudreau. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gorbachoff tries to work over Boudreau's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Gorbachoff obliges.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boudreau prevents a takedown attempt there.
Gorbachoff prevents a body shot from Boudreau.
Gorbachoff's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gorbachoff lands with an uppercut that bounces Boudreau off the cage and back into range.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Makahlen Gorbachoff hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Gorbachoff ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Boudreau is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gorbachoff gets a clinch.
Gorbachoff prevents a takedown attempt there.
Gorbachoff pushes Boudreau back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gorbachoff unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Gorbachoff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boudreau takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gorbachoff drives through and clinches with Boudreau against the cage.
Gorbachoff lands a body shot.
Gorbachoff has clasped his hands together around Boudreau's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Gorbachoff slows the pace down.
Boudreau tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gorbachoff wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gorbachoff tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Boudreau is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gorbachoff connects with a decent elbow.
Gorbachoff lands a few punches from side control.
Gorbachoff thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gorbachoff moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boudreau can't do much from the bottom here.
Gorbachoff tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gorbachoff has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
