Ross comes to the cage accompanied by Let The Bodies Hit The Floor. Battle has chosen Break Stuff as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricky Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andre Battle!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ross has taken the fight to the clinch.

Battle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ross throws a big shot that misses.
Ross throws a shot from downtown. Battle moves away and avoids it.
Battle throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ross tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Battle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ross misses with a two punch combination.
Ross throws a poor cross that misses
and Battle counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ross is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Battle.
Ross misses with a wild combination.
Battle lands a nice looking body shot.

Battle moves into the clinch successfully.
Ross has a couple of punches blocked by Battle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ross misses with a short punch on the inside.
Battle gets through Ross's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A nice left hand lands by Battle.

Ross has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ross throws a punch but it's blocked by Battle.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ross.

Ross breaks the clinch.
Ross misses with a straight left.
Ross looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ross looks to land a left hand but Battle moved out of range nicely.
Ross misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ross throws a jab when Battle was well out of range.
Ross digs a good hook to Battle's body.
Ross lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Battle circles away quickly and effectively.
Battle slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ross takes a swing at Battle's ribcage but misses.
Ross misses with the combination.
Ross throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Battle counter with a right hand.

Ricky Ross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Battle takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Battle moves away from the strike by Ross.
Battle lands with a hook. Ross tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Ricky Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Battle displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ross throws out the jab.
Ross avoids the head kick by Battle.
Ross tries to clinch but Battle moves out of range.
Ross is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Battle's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Battle throws a hook to the side of Ross's head but Ross sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Battle is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Battle darts in and clinches Ross up against the cage.
Battle blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A head punch on the inside from Ross fails to land.
Ross's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Battle throws an elbow but it misses.
Ross is trying to break the clinch but Battle has him pressed against the cage.
Ross has a couple of punches blocked by Battle.
Ross swings away with an uppercut that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ross.
Ross throws a punch but it's blocked by Battle.
The referee calls for Battle to work.
Battle wants to take the fight to the mat but Ross manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Battle misses with a hook from the clinch.
Ross swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Battle blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Battle throws a punch but it's blocked by Ross.
Ross prevents the takedown attempt.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Battle.
Ross misses with a punch on the inside.
Battle tries to pull guard but Ross holds him up against the cage and eventually Battle drops back down to his feet.
Ricky Ross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Battle.

Battle manages to break the clinch.
Ross missing with a left hand there. Battle was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ross slips a jab from Battle.
Ross scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Battle looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ross looks to land a right hand but Battle moved out of range.

Ross cracks Battle with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Battle looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ross finish him?


Battle is rocked!


It looks like Andre Battle has been cut.
Ross misses with an uppercut.
Battle is still on wobbly legs! Can Ross finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Battle throws a front kick aimed at Ross's knee but Ross avoids it well.
Battle seems to have recovered his senses.
Ross drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Battle right on the button. Battle goes down! Ross follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Ross gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Ross!
Our winner, Ricky Ross, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
