The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gibbons.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gibbons paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Thompson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Gibbons misses with a straight right.
Gibbons scores with a nice right hand.
Gibbons pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thompson back to the cage. Gibbons follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Tony Thompson has been cut.
Gibbons connects with a right that clearly hurt Thompson. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Gibbons proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Thompson collapses and taps out under the pressure!
