The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bot swinging wildly here.
Bot looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Bot gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bott holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bot fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Bott tightens his grip and picks Bot up, before dumping him to the ground. Bot manages to land in guard.
Bott controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bott makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Bott gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Bott fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bot, pushing him back against the cage.

Bott wants to stand and escape but Bot is having none of it.
Bott has Bot pulled in close to control his posture.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bott can do anything to dispel that myth.

Spar Bott has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bot throws the kick towards the body but Bott avoids it.

Bott moves into the clinch.
Bot is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bott is defending well for now.

Bott has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bot is trying to keep an underhook but Bott manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Bot could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bott decides to stand up.

Bott shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bot manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bott is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bott wants to pass to mount but Bot is defending the position.
Bott perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Spar Bott wasn't active enough on the ground.

Bott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bott takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
