Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Quantino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kieran Masvidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quantino's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Kryzys. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Franklin Quantino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kieran Masvidal!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Masvidal or perhaps it was just good defense by Quantino which made him look bad.
Franklin Quantino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Quantino is defended easily by Masvidal.
Masvidal tries to close the distance and clinch but Quantino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Quantino keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Quantino.

Masvidal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Quantino sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Masvidal somewhat.
Quantino shoots in looking for a takedown. Masvidal tries to sprawl out of it but Quantino keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masvidal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Masvidal can do anything to dispel that myth.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kieran Masvidal hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Quantino keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Quantino shoots for a double leg takedown but Masvidal sprawls well. He's pushed Quantino's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Quantino buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Quantino closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Quantino lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Masvidal looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Quantino has picked Masvidal up and slammed him! Masvidal can't keep hold of the triangle and Quantino manages to pass to side control!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Quantino uses his free foot to push down on Masvidal's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Masvidal.
