The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Laniyan misses.
Laniyan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Laniyan works over Da Silva's head and body with a nice combination.
Laniyan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Da Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laniyan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Laniyan presses Da Silva against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laniyan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Da Silva holds on to Laniyan around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.

Da Silva can't escape the position.
Da Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Laniyan tries to control but Da Silva wriggling away.
Laniyan prevents Da Silva from getting the reversal.

Laniyan breaks from Da Silva's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Da Silva is rocked!
A big strike lands for Laniyan! That's really hurt Da Silva and he's turned his back - Laniyan keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Laniyan jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
